He Will…

Do you ever look at a child – carefree, protected, loved and think – “They don’t know how good they have it!”?  The thought that always follows for me is “I wouldn’t be a teenager again, so I’ll stick with where I’m at!”

It seems, the older I get the more and more concerns arise in my life.  Hardship, tragedy and horrific events happen on a daily basis in the world we live in.  With the economy in the trouble it is in people are jobless, homeless and desperate for a break.  Natural disasters seem to be happening more and more with each passing year.  Illness – cancer, AIDS, influenza, diseases spread by insects and bacterial infections that resist medication – are everywhere .  Children are abused, abducted and killed by those that are supposed to love and protect them.  Kids killing kids seems to be rising at an alarming rate.  The concerns of this world could easily consume our minds and our emotional and physical well-being.

Fortunately, we don’t have to spend our time worrying about concerns that arise in our lives or in our world.  Psalm 138:8a says – “The Lord will accomplish what concerns me; Thy lovingkindness, O Lord, is everlasting.”

God doesn’t run out of answers.  He doesn’t tire of taking care of us – His love is forever.  His love is the driving force behind what He chooses to do for us and in us.  That is enough, in and of itself.  However, being a recovering worrier, the part of this verse that really brings comfort to me is that He will ACCOMPLISH what concerns me.  He has it all under control.  No matter how big or small the problem.

I also like that it doesn’t say He may – but that He WILL.  He doesn’t pass us over for someone with a greater need.  He doesn’t think our concerns are trivial or too small to take care of.  He’s not too busy.

The result may not happen the way we think it should or how we have it planned out.  He has our best interest at heart and He works for our good, to accomplish His will and purpose in our lives.

So, whatever it is that is concerning you today, let God ease your mind and your heart. Allow yourself to rest in knowing that WILL ACCOMPLISH whatever concerns  you – always!
