YOGOWYPI

My cousin, Bill Cordes, is a motivational speaker.  He speaks to students and adults in schools, business settings, etc.  His message is “You Only Get Out What You Put In” (YOGOWYPI – yo-go-whip-ee).

We want things to be easy and effortless, but life is work.  Growth and accomplishment rarely come without working hard.  This saying is true in every area of out lives whether it’s maintaining a healthy body, working on a special project, developing a talent, or giving of your time to help others.  If we want to accomplish great things we must put for great effort.  If we don’t put forth great effort, things become stressful and we become unhappy and feelings of unfulfillment seep in and cause us strife.

This is true in relationships as well.  If we want harmony, joy and fulfillment we have to work at it in our marriages, families and friendships.  Our relationship with our heavenly father works the same way – the more time and effort we put into our relationship with Him the closer we are drawn to Him.  The benefits of that are joy (which is different than happiness), peace, contentment, fulfillment…

I love this and what a great reminder.

Tammy, I have been saying this over and over again in my sermons – we have to have a real and viable relationship with Jesus Christ. The only way to get to know Him is to spend time with Him. Where 2 or 3 are gathered….

    Tammy,

WOW, Just found this that is so cool that you posted this. Yes, it is true, our lives take effort to be lived fully, and it is so cool that God can replenish our spirit when we live close to his word.
