Hope

I’ve been reading about Job the last few days.  Humanly speaking, it’s difficult to understand how he withstood the trials God allowed him to go through.  I came across a passage tonight that gives Job hope.  They are scriptures that can give us hope as well.  A solid reminder of the promises God has made to us.  They come from Job 11 –

16 You’ll forget your troubles;
they’ll be like old, faded photographs.

17 Your world will be washed in sunshine,
every shadow dispersed by dayspring.

18 Full of hope, you’ll relax, confident again;
you’ll look around, sit back, and take it easy.

It’s hard to imagine Job would ever get to the place of his troubles being like old, faded photographs; that his world would ever be bright again and that the shadows of pain and grief and loss would fade away.  No matter what troubles we encounter, God can fill us with the hope that verse 18 talks about – hope that allows us to relax, have confidence and rest (take it easy), knowing that all will be well because God has all under control.

    I have been reading the same Bible reading. And when I got to those verses I thought Wow. Great thoughts.
